Lent Daily Posts 2017

**Note: This post is an accumulation of posts I did for Lent in 2017. I took them down because I never finished the last two days and got really discouraged. However, I now look back and love the daily posts I wrote and want them to still be a part of my blog. Enjoy!**

Today is the first day of Lent. If you don't know what lent is, it's a religious period of time where Christians practice some sort of fasting (giving something up) or "spiritual discipline" (daily prayer or devotional to draw closer to God). This year I've decided to participate in a form of "spiritual discipline." I want to focus on reading my bible daily and reflecting on the word of God. In doing this, I'm going to share the passages and my thought daily on my blog.

I decided not to fast from something because a reason this is done is to honor Jesus' suffering. "Suffering" to honor Jesus' suffering doesn't make sense to me. He was the ultimate sacrifice so we don't have to suffer. Yet every day we have hardships and may "suffer." This leads to this week's topic... Suffering.  The passage for today starts with one of my favorites verses.

"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now." -Romans 8:18-22

On earth, we suffer daily because we experience sin. We experience our own sin and the effects of other's sin in our lives. We long to be free from sin yet we moan and groan along the way. We must remember that it will all be worth it when we get to heaven or when Jesus come back to earth again. In our relationship with God, we can let Him take control of the sin in our lives and be forgiven. We are able to have hope for a better future and not just sit in despair. Next time you're feeling down and just feel surrounded by the corruption of the world, remember the freedom we are offered with God. Because of Him we are free and can live in peace through the suffering.

Day 2-
Today's passage:
“And through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see. So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭1:5-7‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Though we face many hardships in life and some days seem like a rollercoaster, one thing remains. God's love for us never changes. We can remain in our faith during hard times because it is something that is constant. There will never be a day where God will ignore us or not care. We can go to Him with anything and He will protect us. Staying true to our faith is honoring to Him so why not do it? When you're having a bad day don't forget to say a little prayer and find rest in Him.

Day3-
A short one for today!
“For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4:17-18‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Try not to worry about what's happening now because great things are to come. God's love with last forever and we should fix our eyes on what He can do for us.

Day4-
“Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:9-13 NLT
This passage is just a good reminder to us all. In this corrupt world, we should love others and do what is good. Work hard and always pray. These are things that make God happy. His people we should do what we can to please Him. Taking care of His world and the people in it is something we are called to do as His disciples.

Day 5-
“You have heard the law that says, ‘Love your neighbor’ and hate your enemy. But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:43-45‬ ‭NLT‬‬
We are called to love all people. We have all been created in God's image, therefore we are all the same in God's eyes. If someone is against you, pray they see the best in all. Also, try to see the best in all yourself. God's creation was given to all people so we should learn to get along and not dismiss one another. We all have good days and bad days. We should learn together through it all. I pray that everyone takes the challenge to pay it forward sometime this week!

Day 6-
“Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:31-32
Sometimes in life, people do things that frustrate us. We get mad, annoyed, and/or jealous. But in those times it's important to remember to be understanding and forgive others as God forgave us. It can be very, very, very hard. But in the end, it's worth it. You aren't filled with bitterness and can sometimes renew past relationships with people. Keep this in mind and pray about a situation where you may need to forgive someone.

Day 7-
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:6-7‬ ‭
These verses are quite common but are always good to hear. Life can be full of worries, especially as a young college kid. But it's important to remember to hand it all over to God. In this, we can find peace. It can be a difficult thing to do but with lots of prayers, it can be easier. God's peace can be healing in times of worry and anxiety. To know we can find this peace with God is one of the most comforting things ever.

Day 8-
“If only you would prepare your heart and lift up your hands to him in prayer! Get rid of your sins, and leave all iniquity behind you. Then your face will brighten with innocence. You will be strong and free of fear. You will forget your misery; it will be like water flowing away. Your life will be brighter than the noonday. Even darkness will be as bright as morning. Having hope will give you courage. You will be protected and will rest in safety. You will lie down unafraid, and many will look to you for help.”
‭‭Job‬ ‭11:13-19‬ ‭
I found this passage to be a good reminder to give over our sins to God. Because of Him, we can be free of fear and misery. Because of Him, we can have hope and joy. He will protect us against anything life throws at us and that's amazing. We can get through anything because of Him. God is incredible and we must not forget the things He can do for us.

Day 9-
“Taste and see that the LORD is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him! Fear the LORD, you his godly people, for those who fear him will have all they need. Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the LORD will lack no good thing.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭34:8-10‬ ‭
When we find rest in the Lord, good things will come. We can find comfort, joy, and hope in Him. We may have rough days but as long as we trust in the Lord, we will thrive. After a long week, hearing this is reassuring. His plans are greater than ours ever could be me we must trust in Him to find true happiness.

Day 10-
“But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭20:24‬ ‭
This single verse says a lot. Our life is meaningless unless we are living with the Lord and doing as He commands us to do. We should have a relationship with Him and share the good news with all. We have an amazing God and why would we not want to share that with everyone? That's my mission in life and I encourage others to do the same. It doesn't have to be overseas or hundreds of people. You can make a difference with one person.

Day 11-
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. I will be found by you,” says the LORD. “I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11-14‬ ‭
God has an ultimate plan for our life. Everything in it has good behind it. We may not be able to notice at first or in the moment but it's true. God does not do works of evil, therefore, our lives are meant for good. If we pray and seek Him out our lives will be filled with goodness even more. He looks after us and we should put all our trust in Him.

Day 12-
“The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭23:1-4‬ ‭
The Lord will provide us rest and peace in a world full of chaos. He will lead us where to go and show us what is right. We shouldn't be afraid of Him as our tour guide in life. He will protect us from harmful dangers. If we do find ourselves in danger, He will be there to comfort us and pull us out. All things are possible with Him. We shouldn't give up hope because we never know what is in store.

Day 13-
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:6-8‬ ‭
I tend to worry and get stressed a lot and often need to remind myself to just pray about it and hand it all over to God. Praying to God for peace and thanking Him is something that brings so much relief in life. When we aren't worrying we can focus on things that are true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, etc. just like this verse says. And what an amazing advantage we have in life. To be able to pray to God and find peace and praise Him!

Day 14-
“For no one is abandoned by the Lord forever. Though he brings grief, he also shows compassion because of the greatness of his unfailing love. For he does not enjoy hurting people or causing them sorrow.”
‭‭Lamentations‬ ‭3:31-33
The Lord is always with us. No matter the circumstance. There's good and bad in the world because we are given free will. For good to exist, bad must exist too. God does not create the bad. Bad things result from an evil force in the world. God will protect us though. He will give us hope and bring healing. We just need to trust and rely on Him. We are His children and no good father would ever wish hurt on His children. We should rejoice in this and find peace in Him.

Day 15-
“God’s way is perfect. All the LORD’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection. For who is God except for the LORD? Who but our God is a solid rock? God arms me with strength, and he makes my way perfect.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭18:30-32‬ ‭
No one is perfect besides God. His way is the only true right way. Everything the Bible says about Him is true. What a privilege it is to have such an amazing God! One that protects us, makes us strong, and never leaves us. Through Him alone, we can find perfection in the love He has for us.

Day 16-
“If I were you, I would go to God and present my case to him. He does great things too marvelous to understand. He performs countless miracles. He gives rain for the earth and water for the fields. He gives prosperity to the poor and protects those who suffer. He frustrates the plans of schemers so the work of their hands will not succeed.”
‭‭Job‬ ‭5:8-12‬ ‭
When we don't know what to do, we should go to God for help. Through Him alone all things are possible and we can find success. He is the only one who should judge good and evil, therefore His judgment should be respected. We may not always agree but that's when we will have to rely on trust.

Day 17-
“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:31-34
It's easy to get caught up in the little worries of every day. However, if we focus on the worries we neglect the word of God. If we worry less and focus less on the "what if"s in life, we can have more trust in Him and let His plans unfold in our lives. Our Father is the only one who rules all and knows all. We have such a great privilege to allow Him to take control of our lives. We just need to focus more on Him daily and ignore the devil's comments that sometimes sneak into our thoughts.

Day 18-
“So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:14-16‬ ‭
God sent His son Jesus to earth to be with us and face what we face every day. He knows what our suffering is like. He did not sin yet we do. Although, He understands. We can come to Him with our sins and He knows exactly what we are going through. He will have mercy on us and give us peace during our times of despair. Our God is so great and almighty that coming to Him, asking for forgiveness, may seem silly. He is all knowing so why should we ask/tell Him? He wants a relationship with Him that's why! Talking to Him is like talking to a friend. You learn more about each other and trust one another. You help each other and grow together. This is the kind of relationship we should have with Jesus. He is our best friend!!

Day 19-
“What is causing the quarrels and fights among you? Don’t they come from the evil desires at war within you? You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it. And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure.”
‭‭James‬ ‭4:1-3‬ ‭
We may not be selfish all the time, but sometimes we might act selfishly. We might focus on doing something for ourselves first or put something before God that benefits our own self. However, when we ignore God's will for us we won't be truly satisfied. We can only delight in what is good and that is what comes from Him. Next time something seems to not be going right, take a step back and see if it honors God.

Day 20-
“Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭3:3-4‬ ‭
In today's society beauty is based on outside appearance. However, that is not how beauty is seen in God's eyes. It can be easy to get caught up in the lies that Satan tells us like "I wish I was as pretty as her," "I feel like I've gained even more weight today," or "I just feel like everyone finds me annoying." None of these things are true. They also don't matter. The only thing that matters is what's on the inside- our personality. True beauty is when someone is a loving person and shows the characteristics of a godly person. So next time you hear a lie coming from Satan, try to ignore it and instead focus on the truths from God.

Day 21-
“And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:26-28‬
Sometimes we go to pray and just don't know what to say. Although sometimes the Holy Spirit will give us the words to pray. When this doesn't happen though, the Spirit still knows what's on our hearts and what we are struggling with and the message will be passed on to God. Because of this, we can have peace. God knows what we need and He will make sure everything works out good in His plan for our lives. What a comforting God we have!!

Day 22-
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the LORD and turn away from evil. Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:5-8‬ ‭
This is another great passage that tells us to trust the Lord. In everyday life, it's easy to follow our own paths and do what we think is right. We trust in ourselves. But the Bible says to trust in the Lord for He will show us the right path to take. If we step down and allow God to be in control amazing things can come from it. He will give us the knowledge and strength we need.

Day 23-
“I love the LORD because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭116:1-2‬ ‭
Everyday I find our God amazing. How cool is it that we have such an all powerful God who loves us so much? And we are able to have a relationship with Him! He listens to each of our prayers and is so forgiving. It's incredible to think about, how lucky we are. Don't forget to be thankful everyday for Him and all that He has done!

Day 24-
“I will meditate on your majestic, glorious splendor and your wonderful miracles. Your awe-inspiring deeds will be on every tongue; I will proclaim your greatness. Everyone will share the story of your wonderful goodness; they will sing with joy about your righteousness. The LORD is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. The LORD is good to everyone. He showers compassion on all his creation.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭145:5-9‬ ‭
One of the amazing things God does, of course, perform miracles. However, these miracles can be big and small. A miracle does necessarily have to be some big healing. Don't forget to praise God for the little things too. Share God's goodness with everyone and show the compassion He has towards us to others. God loves us no matter what and that so incredible! If He is able to love us so deeply when we do Him wrong daily, we should be able to at least try to treat others similar!

Day 25-
“Dear brothers and sisters, be patient as you wait for the Lord’s return. Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen. You, too, must be patient. Take courage, for the coming of the Lord, is near. Don’t grumble about each other, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. For look—the Judge is standing at the door!”
‭‭James‬ ‭5:7-9‬ ‭
Patience. It sounds nice but the process can be challenging. Not just being patient with people or waiting in line. Being patient when waiting for prayers to be answered or waiting for God to work something out in your life. Patience takes hard work and courage. To allow God to be in control and wait for Him is difficult sometimes, but in the end, there will be great outcomes. Along the way, it is also important to try not to complain. I say try because we are all human and complaining is common in our culture. However, complaining doesn't have a good outcome. So instead of complaining, we should focus on praising. Thanking God for the little things can change our attitude. It can also make the waiting process a little more enjoyable.

Day 26-
“For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do. Our great desire is that you will keep on loving others as long as life lasts, in order to make certain that what you hope for will come true.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭6:10-11‬ ‭
God knows all things. He sees what we do and knows what is in our hearts. Even when we make mistakes, God will hear our plea for forgiveness and forgive us. When we do good, God will reward us. The best thing we can do, however, is love. Show others the love of God. Be forgiving and rewarding to others. God does great things for us so why not pay it forward and spread the love God gives us to others.

Day 27-
“Let all that I am praise the LORD; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. Let all that I am praise the LORD; may I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭103:1-4‬ ‭
I pray that we always remember to praise the Lord. That we love Him with all our heart, ask for forgiveness of sin, and always be thankful for what He has done. It can be hard sometimes but it's also very important. I find these verses a great tool to use when praying as well!

Day 28-
“He will keep you strong to the end so that you will be free from all blame on the day when our Lord Jesus Christ returns. God will do this, for he is faithful to do what he says, and he has invited you into partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭1:8-9‬
Whenever we feel shame, God can turn that into freedom. With Him all things are possible and He gives us strength. When we are faithful, we follow Him and pray, He feels delighted. When we engage in a relationship with God, He is overjoyed and will do His best to protect us. How comforting is it to know even on our bad days the Lord is with us.

Day 29-
“But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one. And we are confident in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the things we commanded you. May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ.”
‭‭2 Thessalonians‬ ‭3:3-5‬ ‭
It may sound cliché that we can find strength in the Lord but we can and it's so amazing. When we do the things He has commanded us to do good things will happen. He will guide us on the right path and everything will work out. Through this all we should embrace His love and share it with others. Trusting in His timing can be difficult but with Christ-loving people alongside you, it will all be worth it.

Day 30-
"What do people really get for all their hard work? I have seen the burden God has placed on us all. Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end. So I concluded there is nothing better than to be happy and enjoy ourselves as long as we can."
Ecclesiastes 3:9-12
Not everyone sees the internal battles that we face. However, God does; He sees everything. He also has a purpose for everything that happens. In the present time, things may seem tough. But God will soon reveal what is to be learned or received and the problem with be solved. It takes time and that can be challenging. It's hard some days to trust God and His timing. We should trust Him though because although we don't know the end goal, He does. In the waiting time, it is best to just sit back and let life happen. Pray that God will take over and try to stay positive through it all. I know this can be hard for me but it is my prayer that we all will be able to do it somehow.

Day 31-
“Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭6:19-20‬ ‭
Self image and worth is something many people struggle with. It is important to remember that we are creations of God, made perfectly the way we are. Take a look at the flowers or a sunsets. Would you judge those things the same way you judge yourself? Of course not. We are made by God so only God should be able to judge us. If we try every day to remind ourselves of that fact, we will begin to love ourselves more.

Day 32-
“O LORD, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, LORD. You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand!”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭139:1-6‬ ‭
What an awesome and all knowing God we have! He knows everything about us so we can come to Him in times of praise and need and He knows just what we need. He knows what will come ahead and what we need in preparation for it. Because of this we can have trust in Him and find peace. Every time I remember this fact I'm in awe.

Day 33-
“Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them. Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all!”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:14-16‬ ‭
Pray for your enemies and be humble. God created all people so we should treat them with respect and love. There aren't people who are better than us or worse than us. We are all sinners but also children of God. One thing we all have in common is struggling with something. Let's have empathy towards others instead of show hate in this broken world.

Day 34-
“But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2:4-7‬ ‭
Just stumbled across these verses and they've left me a little speechless. God's grace is truly amazing.

Day 35-
“In times of trouble, may the LORD answer your cry. May the name of the God of Jacob keep you safe from all harm. May he send you help from his sanctuary and strengthen you from Jerusalem. May he remember all your gifts and look favorably on your burnt offerings. May he grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed. May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory and raise a victory banner in the name of our God. May the LORD answer all your prayers.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭20:1-5‬ ‭
We should pray to God in times of need but also in times of praise. When we act as God request of us, He will have favor on us. It is important to praise Him daily, so we focus on the good in life. This will help us be joyful and let God take control of our worries.

Day 36-
“Remember, it is better to suffer for doing good, if that is what God wants, than to suffer for doing wrong! Christ suffered for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but he died for sinners to bring you safely home to God. He suffered physical death, but he was raised to life in the Spirit.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭3:17-18‬
God wants us to do good things in life to honor Him. We should follow this call even if we experience suffering along the way. Jesus experienced the ultimate suffering for us and his spirit was raised. When we experience suffering, our spirit is raised to God and He takes care of us.

Day 37-
“Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has become a child of God. And everyone who loves the Father loves his children, too. We know we love God’s children if we love God and obey his commandments. Loving God means keeping his commandments, and his commandments are not burdensome. For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:1-5‬
When we love God and experience the love God has towards us, we practice that love towards others. One of God's commandments is to love Him and His people. Following Him means being a loving person. Love defeats all evil and in this broken world we could all use more love in our lives. Even just a random act of kindness can make all the difference.

Day 38-
“Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I, can do everything through, Christ, who gives me strength.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:11-13‬ ‭
In this passage we are reminded to be content with what God has gave us in life. It doesn't matter how much "Stuff" we have in life. As long as we have Christ as our savior, we can do anything. We are called to be Christ's disciples and sometimes that mean giving up the "stuff" in life to follow God's plan. But Christ won't ever lead us down a path alone.
